Body Found In Container On Southwest Side
CHICAGO (STNG) ―
The body of a man in his 20s was found in a container in the Southwest Side Gage Park neighborhood Thursday morning.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office was notified at 10:45 a.m. about a body discovered inside a "trunk" at 5759 S. Sacramento Ave. It's not clear whether the body was in a car trunk or a luggage trunk.
A person walking through an alley this morning noticed a "partially exposed body" in a container, according to police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli. Feet were protruding from the container, he said. The person called 911 and detectives responded to the scene.
The body is believed to belong to a Hispanic man in his 20s, though it had not been identified as of 7:30 p.m.
Neither Mirabelli nor the medical examiner's office could say whether the body suffered trauma.
