Man With Down Syndrome Missing On South Side
CHICAGO (Post-Tribune) ―
A man who suffers from Down syndrome has not been seen since he failed to return from taking out the garbage Tuesday night at his brother's South Side home.
Arthur Hill, 50, of 7914 S. Chappel Ave., was at his brother's home at 1757 W. 71st St. when he went missing about 10:40 p.m. The brother told police that Hill, who has Down syndrome, left to take the trash out and never returned, according to a Calumet Area Special Victims Unit detective.
Hill has been reported missing on two past occasions. One time he was discovered at Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center at 7531 Stony Island Ave., and the other time he returned home on his own, the detective said.
He is described as a black male, 5-foot-5 and 180 pounds with medium build, light complexion, and short gray and black hair. His left eye is gray while his right eye is brown. He was wearing a tan shirt, tan pants, black shoes, yellow and blue coat, and a green hat.
Hill is considered a high-risk missing person, the detective said.
He had not been located as of 1:15 p.m. Thursday.
