Company Recalls Infant Formula
WASHINGTON (AP) ―
An Ohio company is recalling one lot of infant formula due to the presence of black plastic particles reported in some cans, the company said Wednesday.
The Ross Products Division of Abbott is recalling one lot of Similac Advance with Iron powdered infant formula in 12.9 ounce cans, with Lot Number 20307RB.
No serious health or safety reports have been received that are attributed to this situation, the company said in the recall.
The formula was distributed between Sept. 15 and Oct. 18, 2004, primarily in the Eastern half of the United States and in Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri.
The lot number is printed on the bottom of the can. The particles resulted from an isolated manufacturing event that has already been corrected, the company said.
Consumers should contact Ross for more information at 1-800-986-8884 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday.
