Police have charged four additional people for allegedly throwing acid on a woman during a July robbery in the Northwest Side's Logan Square neighborhood.
Two juveniles were originally charged in the attack in August.
Linda Dirzo, 58, of the 4500 block of South Justine Street; Ofelia Garcia, 59, of Cicero; Maria Olvera-Garcia, 35 of Cicero; and a 16-year-old were charged Saturday with one count each of armed robbery and heinous battery, according to police News Affairs.
Bond for Ofelia Garcia was set at $750,000 Sunday, while bond for Dirzo was set at $250,000, according to the Cook County Circuit Court's office. Maria-Olvera Garcia did not appear before a judge Sunday but may appear for a bond hearing on Monday, according to a clerk.
Two other juveniles were charged in August with help from a surveillance tape and Chicago and Cicero police officers. A 16-year-old girl was nabbed for allegedly robbing and throwing acid on the woman.
The girl, who police said did not act alone, was charged as a juvenile with armed robbery and heinous battery for the July 28 incident. She is accused of throwing a caustic liquid at Esperanza Medina, 48, as she left her home on her way to work in the 2900 block of West Altgeld Avenue.
Medina suffered third-degree chemical burns over half of her body and was forced to undergo a series of skin grafts following the attack, police said.
The latest juvenile to be charged in the attack is in a juvenile detection center awaiting a hearing, police said.
Dirzo and Ofelia Garcia are scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 14 at 9 a.m.
