10 Nabbed In Aurora Prostitution Sting

AURORA, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― Nine men and a woman were arrested during an undercover prostitution sting in west suburban Aurora Thursday, police announced.

The ten were nabbed by investigators from the Aurora Police Department's Special Operations Group along with officers from the Community Oriented Policing Unit who staged an undercover prostitution detail Thursday, according to a release from Aurora police.

The men were charged with solicitation of a sexual act and the woman was charged with felony prostitution, according to the release.

The operation was aimed at curbing street level prostitution complaints and was conducted on the southeastern fringe of downtown. The exact location of the detail was not being divulged in order to protect the integrity of future stings, according to the release.

The following nine men were charged with solicitation for allegedly offering a female undercover police officer money in exchange for sex:

Luis C. Cazares, 51, of the 0-99 block of East Circle Drive in west suburban Montgomery was charged as well as eight men from Aurora:

Victor H. Nunez, 43, of the 1100 block of Black Oak Trail; Jorge Fragoso, 60, of the 400 block of North State Street; Alexis Ramos-Acevedo, 32, of the 900 block of Ziegler Avenue, Xavier Flores-Lugo, 24, of the 500 block of Benton Street; Jose Aguilar, 24, of the 1300 block of East New York Street; Ernesto E. Gamora, 27, of the 500 block of Beach Street; Joshua Jamal, 22, of the 600 block of South River Street; and Stephan Butler, 50, of the 300 block of Edwards Street have been charged, according to the release.

The woman, Dana M. Faestel, 33, of the 300 block of Spring Street in Aurora was charged with felony prostitution after allegedly offering sex in exchange for money to one of the undercover male officers working the detail, according to the release.

Per city ordinance, six of the men were using their vehicles in the commission of the alleged solicitation offenses and the vehicles were towed and impounded. In order to retrieve them, they had to pay $500 plus applicable towing and storage costs, according to the release.
