Santa and his team of reindeer led by Rudolph make their way around the world today to deliver gifts in time for Christmas. Those who can't wait can watch his progress online, thanks to NORAD.
What began as a telephone hotline about half a century ago has evolved into a real-time online tracking map, available at
www.noradsanta.org.
The site features "SantaCam" videos, which capture animated recreations of Santa's landings at 24 key cities around the world.
Those who would prefer to phone in to learn Santa's whereabouts can call 877-Hi-NORAD (446-6723).
The Web site registered 941 million hits from 210 countries, and received nearly 100,000 e-mails from visitors, according to AGI, which produced the online site.
Santa's southbound and eastward journey began at the North Pole and will end at the Hawaiian Islands. He will also make a special stop to the international space station.
