Doctor Shares How To Beat Winter Blues

They call it the winter blues. Known as seasonal affective disorder, it is a form of mild depression that affects your thoughts and feelings.
"You start to think a little more negatively than you normally would,"
explained Council For Relationships CEO Doctor Stephen Treat on CBS station KYW-TV.
So, how do you beat the blues?
Treat recommends writing down your thoughts on a sheet of paper. He says it's important to then confront yourself about the list. From there, you should draw up another list that acknowledges the positive things in your life.
"Another way to do it is through exercise. Any time you can get outside, walk, work out, get your heart rate up," said Treat.
Finally, Treat urges people to get creative. Consider remodeling or painting your home or starting a new project.
"The most important thing is that you not let yourself dip down too low," said Treat.
