Children's Weight, Blood Pressure Linked

Child Must Lose Weight By Age 14 To Impact Blood Pressure

CHICAGO (CBS) ― If a child is struggling with weight issues, at least one effect may not last a lifetime. But the child has to lose excess pounds by a certain age.

Australian scientists discovered that if kids were able to get back to a normal weight by age 14, their blood pressure also returned to normal.

The study in the journal, "Hypertension" suggests that damage caused by being overweight as a youngster may not be irreversible.
