A revolutionary new way to grow hair, luscious locks with no medicine and no surgery. CBS station KYW-TV's Medical Reporter Stephanie Stahl shows you the results.
Movie star hair is in big demand, sleek like Jennifer Aniston or Sara Jessica Parker with her luscious locks.
"Being a girl, you know your hair is important. You see it all over fashion magazines and all over movies, and everything these women with great thick beautiful hair. So you want to have nice hair," said Haley Bell, who is 19 years old and has hair envy.
She's sick of fighting with hers, always worrying about how it looks.
"It's important to me. It's just so stressful to look in the mirror and see your hair thinning as such a young person. It's just that, it's horrible," said Haley.
At first glance it might look okay, but magnification shows just how thin and fine the hair is on her scalp.
So Haley decided to try a new laser treatment called Revage 670 at Jardin Medical Spa.
"It stimulates the production of hair," said Gavin Tucker with Apira Science, which makes the Revage system. He says a cool laser light penetrates the scalp to stimulate blood flow and rejuvenate hair follicles.
"We stopped the progression of hair loss for about 85 to 90 percent of the patients, and there will be some substantial hair growth in those patients," said Gavin. He says before and after photos from Apira show results from the laser treatments.
Kevin Dunn, a 27-year-old personal trainer, says he's already seeing more hair after just a month of twice weekly treatments.
"Where I was thinning, it's already filling in and it's noticeable. I'm a single guy, want to meet girls. Hair is important," said Kevin. He says the 20 minute treatment sessions are painless.
Haley is also seeing results after about eight treatments, more hair and it's thicker.
"I've been noticing it's not as thin. It's slowly, slowly happening. That's good and it's making me happy," said Haley.
The new hair laser won't work on someone who is completely bald.
