Illinois May Permit Use Of Medical Marijuana
Bill Passed Senate Committee
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (CBS) ―
Illinois could soon be the 12th state to permit the use of medical marijuana.
On Tuesday, a bill that would protect patients from arrest for using it passed a Senate committee by a 6-5 vote.
This action in Springfield comes as a new poll shows 62 percent of Illinois residents support legislation that would allow people with serious illness to grow and use their own marijuana for medical purposes with a doctor's approval.
