Oprah Winfrey plans to end her syndicated talk show and leave Chicago in 2011, according to published reports.
Winfrey plans to move her talk show to her OWN cable network, following demands by Discovery Communications that she "move (her program) or lose it,"
the Web site Deadline Hollywood reported.
Winfrey will also move the headquarters for OWN from Chicago to Los Angeles, as soon as mid-2011, according to Deadline Hollywood. Her show currently airs in Chicago on WLS-Channel 7.
A spokesman for Oprah's Harpo Productions denied the report.
"She has not made a decision yet. As she has previously stated, she'll be making an announcement before the end of the year,'' spokesman Don Halcombe told CBS in an e-mail.
A spokesperson for CBS Television Distribution, which syndicates the show, stated, "Nothing has changed. The decision is Oprah's to make. As we have stated repeatedly, we love Oprah and if she wants to continue her show then we want to continue to be in business with her."
Winfrey is a native of Kosciusko, Miss., but has been based in Chicago since 1983, when she became host of a morning talk program on WLS-Channel 7.
It has not been learned how the move will affect Winfrey's Harpo Productions facility on the Near West Side.
