Paparazzi Accuses Keanu Reeves Of Assault, Battery
LOS ANGELES (CBS) ―
Allegations of assault and battery have been added to a negligence lawsuit that a photographer filed against actor Keanu Reeves, court papers show.
Alison Silva is seeking unspecified general damages in his suit filed Nov. 5. He claims his earning abilities and chances at getting a job have been diminished because of the injuries he sustained on March 19.
Reeves was behind the wheel of a black 1996 Porsche 911 Cabrio that struck Silva on Avenida Tranquila in Rancho Palos Verdes on that date, according to his Los Angeles Superior Court suit.
Reeves, who was covering his face, pulled away from the curb and "in a sudden, erratic and dangerous manner drove forward and struck (Silva)," according to Silva's latest court papers, filed last Thursday.
Jeffrey N. Redd, an attorney for Reeves, replied in his court papers that Silva was involved in activity with an inherent risk and that he should have taken steps to prevent his injuries.
A case management conference is set for March 25.
