City Council OKs $1 Gas Surcharge On Cab Rides
CHICAGO (CBS) ―
Cab fares in Chicago are climbing higher starting April 28. Customers will have to pay a dollar more per ride thanks to the high cost of gas.
The Chicago City Council passed the dollar-a-ride surcharge that's triggered when regular unleaded gas hits $3.20 a gallon -- or more -- for a week.
Prices have been at about $3.50 in the city for a while now.
