Is your dog ready for the new baby? Bowser many need help adjusting to the addition of a new baby. Learn how to teach even old dogs new behaviors that will make them safer, happier, and more like baby's best friends. Babies are welcome to attend, but please leave bowser at home. Participants receive an illustrated dog training manual.

Breastfeeding for Multiples

This class covers the same aspects of the regular "Best Beginning-Breastfeeding" but with additional information on the concerns of breastfeeding for multiples. Husband/partners are encouraged to attend. This class is part of our "Baby 101" class package and is designed for pregnant couples. It provides practical information about milk production, positions, storage, and tips for breastfeeding success. The class includes specific information on ways dads can help. Participants receive an educational package designed especially for Northwestern Memorial Hospital. This package includes the book "A Parent's Guide to Breastfeeding" by Amy Spangler and a breastfeeding DVD.

This is two-part class offers information specific to a multiple pregnancy, delivery, and beyond. Classes cover signs of preterm labor, stages of labor, and pain relief options. The details of vaginal or cesarean delivery of twins or triplets, postpartum recovery, and a tour a Prentice are included. Breakfast provided for the weekend series.

This brother or sister workshop is designed to help children understand what will happen to their mom and new brother or sister at the hospital, in terms they can understand. They will visit the nursery of Prentice to see other newborns firsthand. There are plenty of opportunities to ask questions, and all children receive certificates to remind them of their accomplishments. Required age of the child is three to ten.

Instructor: Jill Stein Meet other new moms while interacting with your baby and burning calories. Please bring your baby in a car seat carrier. For moms six weeks to 10 mos postpartum. Tone and strengthen muscles of the core, thighs, and gluteus. Includes exercises for the upper body as well.
