Lake Forest Convinces Macy's To Modify Logo

CHICAGO (CBS) ― The Historic Preservation Commission in north suburban Lake Forest has a reputation for being very particular.

Now, it's reached a compromise with Macy's over a sign change on the old Marshall Field's store.

A toned-down version of Macy's traditional logo will grace the 90-year-old building on Market Square.

Macy's brand features a blazing red star, but not in Lake Forest. It has agreed to a more subdued display: a bronze plaque with a neutral-colored star.
