Terry Savage, Chicago's money expert, has returned to CBS 2 as a co-host of Monsters & Money in the Morning. As one of America's best known authorities on personal finance and the markets, Terry's keen insights drive the commentary and enlighten viewers during the two-hour, live morning show.

As a nationally recognized financial journalist, Terry has been a guest on CNN, NBC and CNBC and has appeared several times on Oprah! For the last 20 years, Terry has written a nationally syndicated column, The Savage Truth, for the Chicago Sun-Times.

She has authored four books: Terry Savage Talks Money (1990), Terry Savage's New Money Strategies for the '90s (1993), The Savage Truth on Money (1999) and The Savage Number: How Much Money Do You Need to Retire? (2005, 2nd edition 2009). She is also a contributor to TheStreet.com and Moneyshow.com.

Terry's expertise comes from experience. She began her career as a stockbroker and became a founding member and the first woman trader on the Chicago Board Options Exchange, and was an early member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange's International Monetary Market.

Terry's years in the markets led her to a career in journalism. Her first on-air appearance was at Chicago's financial news Channel 26 on The Stock Market Observer. She then worked for two years at WMAQ-TV. Terry first appeared on CBS 2 in 1981 as a financial analyst and commentator on money, investments and personal finances. Since then, Terry has gained national recognition and won numerous awards for her journalistic work, including two local Emmys received while reporting for CBS 2.

Terry's history with the Chicago Sun-Times, however, dates back to her early childhood: At age 7, she was pictured in the Sun-Times with her horse in Lincoln Park. Riding is still her favorite pastime, and she travels to Wisconsin nearly every weekend to spend time with her horses.

When she's not working or riding horses, Terry is immersed in Chicago's business community. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group and was previously on the boards of McDonald's Corporation for 14 years and Pennzoil-Quaker State Corporation for 5 years. Terry has served her community as a long-time supporter of Junior Achievement of Illinois and the Northwestern Memorial Hospital Foundation. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Michigan, where she won a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship.

Her co-hosts for Monsters & Money in the Morning are sportscasters Mike North and Dan Jiggetts and business reporter Mike Hegedus.
